Since 1988, Advocates for Homeless Families has been helping Frederick County homeless and at-risk-families in achieving success and self-sufficiency by providing a transitional housing program and a program to help families in economic crisis from losing their homes.
On January 4, Tri State Restorations, LLC® was called to assist with a sump pump failure at the facility. Over the long holiday week, water had backed up and saturated the building’s carpets in the hallway and several offices.
Our technicians immediately arrived to assist with mitigation services. We performed a thorough evaluation of the damages, produced a scope of work and began the water extraction process. All rooms were disinfected and thoroughly cleaned. High powered industrial fans, dehumidifiers, air purifiers and odor control equipment were placed to continue enhancing the drying process by reducing the amount of environmental moisture and to remove the musky odor. Affected rooms included the building’s hallway, furnace room, three offices and a storage area.

The outcome of their admirable efforts is the founding of Advocates for Homeless Families in 1988, an organization that has successfully impacted the lives of several hundred families who otherwise may not have had the support and resources to overcome their homelessness.
